The Senate confirmed John Glover Roberts Jr. as chief justice of the United States, replacing the late William H. Rehnquist, the mentor for whom he clerked. The vote was 78-22. This is a leap of faith and a journey into the unknown, since Roberts, the consummate politician, failed to say anything substantial during his confirmation hearings. Now we must gear up for the next nomination, which hopefully won't be a right wing zealot - but I'm not holding my breath.

I can only hope he turns out to be like Earl Warren, instead of Scalia.
No offense, but the white, heterosexual, Christian male power structure is oh, so old...and arrogated by a long tradition of brutal policies against those who aren't any one of those things...
They know who they like working for them, even to the peril of our nation's identity, the cohesion of it and our national security...
of course they blame the compromise of that on gay and lesbian equality and women's reproductive self determination-instead of their own greed and lust for unmitigated power. A man like Roberts, sure knew how to obfuscate...the cagey bastard...

I lived long enough to see a gay man confirmed to the SCOTUS.

I love this job;I work brought endless fun.I hope that the formal減肥I appreciated the boss .I hope to continue to work in the credit徵信.
