Harriet Miers is a born-again Christian who belongs to a pro-life church that watches dreadful Focus on the Family videos. She took on the American Bar Association to try to stop a resolution that endorsed Roe v. Wade. Miers is a close friend of George W. Bush. The Supreme Court nominee also once said she thought Draconian sodomy laws should stay on the books in Texas.
One would think that conservatives would be thrilled about her nomination. Well, not exactly. Despite such stellar conservative credentials, she isn't quite nutty enough for the right wing fringe. I don't think they would be happy unless Bush appointed Rev. Pat Robertson to the Supreme Court. A New York Timesarticle today outlines growing conservative opposition to her nomination that may even threaten her chances at confirmation.
The arrogance of the right wing is astounding They have been handed one of their own - a virtual angel - and all they want to do is clip her wings. Neo-Puritans must be reminded that we are sending someone to the bench, not the pews.

ames Dobson had talked to Karl Rove about the Supreme Court controversy. He thought that was good enough.
No matter who Bush would pick it still wouldn't be good for our country and ALL the people in it. So it doesn matter who dumps Miers, as long as she gets dumped!
