America's queerest "ex-gay" leader Stephen Bennett will soon launch a tour of Connecticut to protest a recent law allowing for same-sex civil unions. Public meetings called "Straight Talk About Homosexuality" will be held to lie about gay life and demean hard working, tax paying gay citizens. The limp-wristed "ex-gay" ministry leader says, "We are going to pull no punches. We're going to come out with the rock-solid truth about the medical truths and dangers about homosexuality."
Who is this guy kidding? Punches? Take one look at Bennett and you can expect no more than a fanny slap. Before he goes across Connecticut saying he has "changed", he ought to butch it up a tad, to make his gig a little more believable. Take a good look at this guy's picture. If you have seen him at a Connecticutcut gay bar or cruising gay pick-up spots or online, please contact me, so he can be exposed as a hypocrite.

Wayne, what are the "medical truths" he's talking about? I'd like to know exactly what they are and how he can document that.
Oh my! I'm hoping that photo is old because I haven't seen a man wear hair like that since the '70s ... and never a (ahem ... cough) "straight" man at any time.
Someone needs to tell her to get off the "ex-gay" stump and run as fast as her high heels will carry her to the next meeting of M.A.A. (Mousse Abuse Anonymous)!
Okay, I would LOVE to confront this guy about those 'medical truths' too.
I want him to name ONE thing that occurs ONLY among gay people that doesn't among heterosexuals equally. At least where negative aspects are concerned. And trust, gay issues will ALL be negative, and hetero ones all good.
The list of risks that result from heterosexual sex is bigger. But of course, he'll flip incovenient facts to suit his agenda.
I'd love to get him where he lives with MY list. My list is tiny. There are virtually but a few differences and even in differences, all is equal. Period.
I would love to see what kind of people show up to hear him. I'd love to see he'd predictably weigh up 'the gay lifestyle' as if it bears little resemblance to the 'heterosexual lifestyle'. If he would even use the words 'heterosexual lifestyle'. Men like him, just don't know a lifestyle, from life. And what he doesn't know... would fill the entire blogesphere.

I don't understand the point of the ex-gay organization to protest healthy gay relationships. I can only conclude it is due to the fact that he never had one perhaps. I have to agree with Dan that it is vague on whether or not these poster children of the ex-gay movement were actually ever gay. I would also speculate that the lure of money and 15 minutes in the spotlight are motivating factors as well. Robert, the medical truths these people refer to are Dr Cameron's research and statistic compiled by NARTH and Focus on the Family. Such things as the fact that we are 6X more costly than smokers or how about more likely to drive drunk, even if we do not drink, we still drive drunk.

Isn't this Bennett the guy who says he used to curl up on the floor and sob with guilt every time he had sex with his partner, but he was so conflicted, he stayed with his partner for years, always sobbing after they had sex and praying for forgiveness? It would seem he needs to proselytize and convince other people to 'leave' homosexuality in order to justify his own choice.

Ok, there are some messed up gay guys out there if anyone would put up with his partner sobbing on the floor every time he had sex.
I've put up with a lot before, but a sobbing mess dragging the blanket onto the floor when I'm wanting to cuddle and fall off to sleep? I don't think so.
But, then again, if anyone was willing to put up with that hair (please tell me it's a hairpiece).

Is he also going to talk about the rampant Herpes epidemics that have plagued the heterosexual communities??
Act-up type gays need to attend everyone of his talks and shout the truth at him; maybe we can even make him cry on stage. No other minority group would tolerate this shit and gays certainly wouldnt have back in the 70s and 80s. We've gotten way too complacent. I'm guilty too! Gary (NJ) ps..I think I've seen this guy dancing to Grace Jones' I Need a Man back in the 70s. He obviously still needs one!

At a guess...I'd say he's going to lean heavily on Paul Cameron's missive, "Medical Consequences Of What Homosexuals Do", and other Paul Cameron junk science. Like his other stuff on homosexuality, that one's been debunked pretty well...but with that crowd it doesn't matter how often you debunk their junk, they just keep right on dispensing it.
