Dover Area School Board members violated the Constitution when they ordered that its biology curriculum must include the notion that life on Earth was produced by an unidentified intelligent cause, U.S. District Judge John E. Jones III said. The Dover policy required students to hear a statement about intelligent design before ninth-grade biology lessons on evolution. The statement said Charles Darwin's theory is "not a fact" and has inexplicable "gaps." It refers students to an intelligent-design textbook, "Of Pandas and People," for more information.
The controversy divided the community and galvanized voters to oust eight incumbent school board members who supported the policy in the November 8 school board election.
Said the judge: "It is ironic that several of these individuals, who so staunchly and proudly touted their religious convictions in public, would time and again lie to cover their tracks and disguise the real purpose behind the ID Policy."
There you have it folks. The moral mavens are liars and frauds who will do and say anything to intimidate the public into accepting their backwards and flawed fundamentalist beliefs.
Thank GOD that these deceptive yahoos were defeated before they had an opportunity to poison the minds of children and make the United States the laughing stock of the civilized world.

You librils hate God and want him out of the class rooms. May you face His wrath and jujment.
Damn right we want Him out of the classroom, since He has no place there. Separation of Church and State. This country isn't made up of just Christians and other religions should be respected, especially in an influential learning environment like the classroom.
The judge made the right ruling. I firmly believe science should be taught in a science classroom. Religion should be taught in a religious classroom. It just seems like common sense to me. Evolution, though a bit flawed, is a scientific theory. Intelligent design is not a scientific theory. Therefore intelligent design should not be taught in a science classroom.

I belong to the "left". I am a very religious and a spiritual person. So "left wingers" like me are talking about "CIVIC" sense in thinking. We are not literalist, we understand that the scriptures are filled with aligories.
Let me give you a taste of what we "left wingers" feel. An example, many evagelical Christians in pakistan or countries where Christianity is a minority say that their faith is oppressed or marginalised.
Well the same is the story here, the "Christian" right wing wants GOD / Jesus to be drilled into every ones head. Marginalising every one who donot beleive in their faith.
I want to teach my children their faith not the teacher in school. I will pass my traditions to my children. Kids should go to school to be educated in science and civic knowledge.

Answer to FLAWED Science:
What is this bullshit about of FLAWED SCIENCE. Gallieo was killed because he could not effectively prove to the judges his theories. They called his science the "FLAWED" science. Now we have the means to prove his theory, which is now a fact.
The creation theory is equally a flawed science. They rely on the fact that every thing has a creator. Well now I ask a question "If GOD created everything, who created GOD?", the creationist will say, "GOD just existed".
I say "Everthing existed, the soul (energy) just changes from on form to another" (An adaptation of conservation of energy) what is wrong.
To this the creationist will say prove this. I say prove that flying pigs dont exist.
Moral of the story, you cannot talk rationally to a right-wing person. They are like a horse that has blinds, they see only one way. Being a leftist I respect their (right-wing) faith, but donot respect their intolerance to other faiths.
I trust the judge. But I'm also influenced by messages from the Holy Spirit on The Christian Prophet blog showing concern with dictatorship in public schools and judicial dictatorship. On the light side, a message on The Holy Inheritance blog said we were all created by love.

My third argument as a theist -
I donot share the Christian Faith but have great respect. I fail to understand "IN YOUR FACE evangelism" of any religion.
To set up temples, churches and resources for people who are naturally inquisitive is fine. This attempt to bring in Intelligent Design, is not a equal right issues, this is just to push onces faith on others.
Everything in this earth changes. Science changes and we as a scientific community is constantly discovering GOD's wonder in my opinion or the magic of science for a person who doesnot share the same belief.
We may call it differently, one may personalize saying GOD, one may not do so. But for a person calling it magic of science is not offensive to us, since we believe that science is a part of GOD. Without GOD there is no science in our opinion.
But for us to "preach/teach" that it is GOD in school is offensive, since that is not their faith. It is like the hindus forced to convert to christianity by torture in portugese times and into islam by the muslim emperors by compulsion.
So what cannot they call it science. Why can't we see that Science is GOD. WHY DO WE HAVE TO CONVINCE THEM.
The entire creation in the OLD testament is in few pages. May be we where not given the details. They could be an algory. What are we as a religious community afraid of? Are we afraid the scientist would prove that GOD doesnot exist. If GOD exist would GOD let it happen?

Evolution, though a bit flawed...
Evolooshin is flawed.
Just how is evolution flawed? The concepts of evolution have brought the modern world everything from the World Wide Web to the only reliable treatments for cancer.
Pick up your dragging knuckles and join the rest of us in the 21st century.

Evolution is a myth. There is NO proof of it. Can't you see how beautiful we are? Only GOD could have created such perfection.
Open your Bible and read about Him and reap his joy.
Lonnie, your ignorance of science is APPALLING! Evolution has been supported by scientific research since it was first postulated by Darwin in the 19th century. However, there is not a shread of evidence to support the creation MYTH in the Torah (yes, the first half of your bible). You can read it metaphorically if you wish, but anyone who thinks the bible is literal is a FOOL! And a note to chutneypopcorn, Galileo was not killed by the church, he was placed under house arrest and eventually died a natural death. Near the end of his life, I believe he recanted his theories (under duress of course). Gary (NJ)

"Evolution, though a bit flawed..."
This part came from me. Evolution only works on small scale. It has not yet explained how we evolved stomachs and limbs. It does not explain how we got from the simplest cell-like organism to suddenly sprouting an extra cell or a mouth. I'm sure that with time, as the theory is refined, we will have the answer. Right now we do not. That's how evolution is flawed.
Again, in relation to this case, I believe science should be taught in a science classroom. Evolution is a scientific theory. It should be taught. End of story.
Creationism is a religious/Christian myth. It should not be taught in any public classroom.

Unless IDers can demonstrate proof via Scientific Method, pier review and independent validation of their claims they can't claim that ID is a science period. It is as simple as what is the definition of science and ID doesn't come close.
It should be noted that the judge in this case is a Republican and not an "activist judge", as has been claimed by ID proponents. Who are the real activists in this case?
Finally, If they don't trust the government enough to teach sex ed, then why is it ok for the gov to teach religion?

I wish that the so-called Cristians would stop giving bad name to real Christians. THe evangelicals and pentecostals and all these breads are NOT Christian, are fundamentalist Biblist... Christianity is more than that.
I think that there is not place for "Inteligent design" or "Creationism" (Same thing) in the class room, becaus our kids need to learn other things that are not necessarily religios, If you want a religious kid, then take him/her to SUNDAY School, but don't try to impose on everyone else your beliefs...AND I AM A CHRISTIAN.
