(Chad Larson)A Northern Virginia radio show that caters to a younger gay audience received threats this week to shut down, or else. E-mails from right wing yahoos hinted at violence if Chad Larson, host of
The Edge Show , did not cancel his program. While the e-mails did not offer a specific threat, they did claim that members of one church organization have "removed homosexuals from places before" and that , "If Mr. Larson won't go quietly, we are ready for a fight." The e-mail did not specify which church the writer claimed to be from.
"The penalty for homosexuality is death. Humans are not allowed to kill," one e-mail stated. "That's why God sent AIDS. When Chad Larson is lying on his death bed from this incurable illness, he will wish he had of turned to us for help."
Larson said the threats are being taken seriously, but the show will go on, each Saturday at 1PM on WEBR in Fairfax.
"I will not go off of the air simply because someone does not like it's content. This is America and in this country we have the right to listen to a radio program, or, turn it off."
The Edge Radio Show features several friends taking a light-hearted look at the news affecting the community while playing the top gay club songs around.

This is what happens when people try to do a good thing for their community. Hopefully the local gay organizations are standing by this show and not letting them fight this crap alone.

I'm sure someone like the FBI could trace the origin of those treatening emails. It sounded like a death threat to me!! Lambda Legal Def. should definately get involved--i doubt if the virginia police give a shit.

Are you kidding? How could you not see this as a threat? If being in the business means dealing with death threats then he should get out. But he is a young guy who obviously is trying to do something positive for his community. There are not enough young gay people out there willing to take a stand. I say horrayy to this show and it's young host. This is what I hope the future of gay America looks like.

They did not say they were going to kill the kid. They said that he will get AIDS. There is a big difference between wishing AIDS on someone and going out and killing them. I agree, if you are going to be in the spotlight, learn to deal with this kid. You better grow up quick and quit whinning.

What's wrong with this community? When we justify someone getting death threats as "part of being in the spotlight." What if something did happen to this guy? Would we then say it was part of his job? To the guy who told him to grow up; he has bigger balls than most gay men I've seen to get death threats and keep going. Got to love our community.

Gary, these homegrown zealots are the American equivalent of the Taliban and Al-Quaeda. They use or threaten violence to advance thier beliefs and they have no respect for the lives of gay, lesbian and transgendered people. I see no difference, do you? Just how Christian do they really think they are when they believe and promote the absurd notion that AIDS is God's vengeance? As for Virginia, well, every red state is a hate state if you ask me.

Perhaps it's the cynic in me, but I find myself wondering how many people would care about this boy if he weren't as attractive. Granted, the main issue is the fact that we have in this country people who have the exact same mindset as the Taliban, as al-Qaeda, and as the Islamic fundamentalists who are given a free pass because they rub a crucifix vigorously between their legs instead of a Koran. But I think this also exposes some of the superficial facism latent in the gay community, as well.

Well seeing as i've met Char Larson adn know im to be a really really great guy i see no grounds on actually commiting these threats anywhere near him and if i have to i'll be a full time body gaurd to him because someone as funny, sweet, and sexy as him deserves nothing but the respect and acceptance of being allowed to express his views as he does. i personally find the show funny and it tells me about the news, which i dont pay attention to any where else. so i give full 100% support to char larson and "the edge radio show"

I sent a note to Chad via "the Edge" website. He is a very enterprising young man with a lot of courage. He deserves to be supported and I agree with others here who have said ... "we need more like him!"
PS: Note to pigs ... this young man's life was threatened ... and you pig's are talking about rimming him and how cute he is!? ... what fucking a-holes you are!

To the dude who said he's not that hot.... YES HE IS. But that is not the point. The point is that he has put himself out there for the good of his community. I downloaded his podcast. Great stuff. It was roll on the floor funny and it sent a message in a way that I bet 99% of the people who heard it didnt even know they were getting a message! This guy obviously knows what he is doing. I enocourage everyone to check out his website. I think you will find it as interesting as I did. www.edgeshow.com. I contacted him via his "contact form." Let's show this brave young man our support and send him our letters of support. He's getting enough death threats... lets give him posititve things to read instead!

心中一阵不安升降机，因为我忽然又想起了那道剑光升降平台，可怕的剑光升降台，美丽的剑光登车桥。为什么那一剑是那么的美丽货架，却又那么的可怕呢集装袋？在我倒下之前我说地磅，好美的剑塑料托盘，好恨的剑塑料托盘。我倒下了仓储笼。在我失去知觉之前仓储笼，我听到他说北京货架，这叫艺术超市货架，剑的艺术北京货架。
我并没有死广州货架，原来我的心是在右边仓储货架，而是不是左边货架厂。所以在那穿胸一剑之下我并没有死南京货架。

刀已在我手中点钞机，刀还是那把刀配电箱，人却已不是那个人流苏，因为心不是那颗心沙滩巾。
他为了杀我竟找了我十年氯化镁，而为了和我比武竟帮我从屋顶拿下我的刀来双面胶带，并放在我的手中碳纤维。我忽然发现排线，他也变了汽车座垫，他在后悔十年前将所有高手都杀绝珍珠奶茶。
高手的悲哀太阳伞。
我握紧了刀桥架，我看着他的眼tpr，已经不再像十年前那样明亮了钢丝。

我走了货架公司。我头也不回的走了塑料托盘。没有取回我的刀塑料托盘，因为我觉得它在我身边已经没用塑料托盘，我后悔我十年前为什么不扔了它塑料托盘？我听到了尸体倒下的声音塑料托盘。我流泪了塑料托盘，我真的不想杀他仓储笼，十年前不想仓储笼，十年后也不想仓储笼，因为我下山时答应过师父仓储笼，一切让着他仓储笼。
我叹了一口气仓储笼。远去仓储笼。
