In response to the Soul Force Equality Ride, which is challenging bigotry at religious colleges across America, the American Family Association launched a fierce attack. AFA founder Donald Wildmon, a known liar, spewed myths about the income of gay people (much like the Nazi's used to do against Jews) and misrepresented gay life.
-- Please download NGLTF's study, "Income Inflation: The Myth of Affluence Among Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual Americans. Scroll down the page to find it.--
Folks, listen to the radio clip recorded by Media Matters, to hear unadulterated hate and ignorance by the redneck radio host.

actually giving these bigots air time ain't such a bad idea, I mean the reason why the civil rights struggle was won was because racists were allowed to spew their hatred of blacks and jews, seriously if we really want to win this war than the american public needs to know how much these people really hate us, then they'll get so disgusted with these "Pro-Family" organizations that these groups will lose all support from their constituents.

This is why the Museum of Tolerance and the Southern Poverty Law Center is onto them. They ARE a hate group whose tactics DO mimic those of Nazi propaganda against Jews and Gypsies in particular.
The American public can't be kept ignorant of just how dangerous groups like this are. Just because they SAY their motives are mostly religious is no excuse.
Christian Identity has also claimed piety and they are a virulent supremacy group.
Hetero supremacists are no less dangerous than white supremacists.
I'll cross reference SPLC and check if our searchers at MOT can yellow tag, AFA as a hate group.

Does being gay make you rich, or does being rich make you gay? People who want to stay straight should send me all their money, just to be on the safe side. -Tara

The AFA broadcast was a joke. Talk about bearing false witness against your (gay) neighbors! Wildmon quickly characterized the Equality Ride as an effort by gay activists to destroy Christianity ITSELF. How ridiculous and said that this poor, uneducated man equates homophobia with Jesus. How do these people sleep at night?

I must say, Wildmon has amazing cock-sucking lips. I hope to meet him at a gloryhole one day.
A.J., get a life. You're obviously some country hick who thinks you're being funny. But you're just plain gross.

I think Wild-man is into bestiality. And with those lips it was probably the republican elephant! Ewwww, he's nasty. Gary (NJ)

There has been some "photoshopping" on that picture. Google "Donald Wildmon" and you can find the original image pretty easily.

We should boycott Wildmon and his American Fascist Association. Wait a minute...we are already doing that. Sorry. Well, I want to run him and his followers over with a Ford F-150. The hell with the anti-corporate AFA with their boycotts on Ford, Cadbury-Schweppes, Dial Corporation, and others who do not conform with the homophobic fascist agenda.
I have to agree with my fellow posters who have pointed out that exposure and publicity is exactly what these groups need. For years Fred Phelps carried out his *mission* of anti-gay hate and rhetoric but it wasn't until he protested center stage at Mathew Shepherd's funeral that most Americans got to see this vicious group for who and what they truly are - a hate group masquerading as a church.
I say bring on the publicity and shine some light on these creatures. Once the majority of Americans see their vicious anti-gay - anti-semitic - anti-anti attitudes they will be relegated to non-issue status like their cousins the KKK.
Why do you people have to be so in your face about your SIN??
We don't care what you do, just do it behind closed doors. That is the solution to your problems. But if you do it and flaunt it in our faces, of course we are going to get mad. We are Christians, after all.
A person's sexual orientation is not just what they do behind closed doors. It involves who you committ your life to, legal ramifications re: relationships, adoption, etc.
If you are a heterosexual - do you have to keep your relationship or marriage in the closet?
Every Ash Wednesday I see people walking around with ashes on their foreheads. It absolutely disgusts me! I don't care if you people get ashes smeared on yourselves at a church service, but please do us all a favor and wash them off before you come out into public!

DE said, "...of course we are going to get mad. We are Christians, after all."
You know nothing of the Christ you claim to follow and drag His name through the mud.
Maybe you shouldn't flaunt your "faith" in our face.
Your worthless values and the culture of fear and ignorance are the reasons why gays are causing a backlash (in other words...flaunting). They need to represent.

DE, please define "flaunting".
I hear that word thrown around describing gay folks if they are just walking down the street.
But I could say I have a greater complaint about gangsta rap culture and the flaunting of urban/hip hop sexuality and conspicuous consumption.
I remember a time when a black woman was afraid to wear bright colors or talk too loud or sing in polite society or laugh out loud. Expression comes in many ways DE... so what do you mean when gay folks are "flaunting"?
And when can a person expect to NOT be called a derogatory name, be assaulted or killed?
Tell me, if I laugh out loud, or hug a loved on in public or hold hands with them....am I supposed to thank you for not killing me? Or do you just want me to be very afraid of your anti gay thug friends?

"We are Christians, after all."
You know, if you're going to be a fake "Christian" poster you could do a much better job of it.
