The United States Dictrict Court in the Ninth Circuit of central California has dismissed a lawsuit filed by the Log Cabin Republicans (LCR) against the US Military's Don't Ask Don't Tell policy PageOneQ has learned.

The decision by LCR to not include the names of plaintiffs in the original suit resulted in the court ruling that the organization "lacks associational standing" to pursue the case. The Log Cabin organization has told PageOneQ they will re-file the case, meeting the decision's requirements.

It remains unclear whether the plaintiffs are unwilling to be named because they might be discharged, or because they are ashamed to be known as members of Log Cabin.

Nice to know we're all on the same side - oh wait, I guess not. Thanks for the snarkiness Wayne and anonymous.

I'll wander off now to where Log Cabin's efforts to achieve equality is not met with contempt and where suing the military to overturn DADT is not considered "licking their oppressors jackboots".

dear little anonymous,

yeah, the right within the GOP (and probably the majority of the GOP) have nothing but contempt for us.

But some in the GOP don't have contempt for us. And some never really gave it a thought - but are approachable if you don't come at them with hostility. And some, like Bill Frist, are evil on some gay issues but can be approached on AIDS funding.

But I guess you're solution is to just ignore them or say hateful crap and hope that maybe, just maybe, they'll figure out on their own why our community has certain needs and why some bills are nothing more than prettied-up discrimination. Or perhaps they'll go hunt up those folks like you who call them jackbooted oppressors and get your opinion. Yeah, right.

And some districts have voters where they are guaranteed to elect a Republican. You can whine about it or smirk about "red states" or "hillbillies" or whatever makes you feel superior, or you can do like Log Cabin does and try to help the guy who is most likely to vote our way sometimes vs. the guy who will always campaign against my life.

You don't have to agree with Log Cabin - or even like them - but you have to respect what they do. You couldn't even get the attention of a GOP congressman, much less get his vote.

And in case you haven't noticed (I doubt you have) Log Cabin has often times delivered the two or three republican votes that were needed to join democrats in stopping some legislation that would do real harm to your life.

So until you are one tenth as effective as Log Cabin, kindly stop shooting those who are on our side simply because they aren't registered to your party.

Oh, and when I said I'd "wander off now to where Log Cabin's efforts to achieve equality is not met with contempt" I didn't mean to other Republicans. I meant to the responsible gays who recognize that if gay equality remains partisan we will lose. I'd rather spend my time with those of all parties, rep. dem. green ind. whatever, who realize our only hope for true equality in this country is to give decent-minded republicans and conservative democrats reasons - in their own language - to support equality for all citizens.

Wayne - OK, I understand it was an attempt at humor and maybe I could lighten up. But if you stop and look at it again you'll see that it's bully humor. I know you're liberal/left and your politics (other than gay stuff) is not going to align with Log Cabin. Ok, whatever. But these guys and gals work way too hard to try and protect you and me, for you to make snide snarky remarks. You've been around and you know better.
