Red state?
I remember in an episode of The CBS Radio Mystery Theatre (CBS. Recorded in New York City. Dan Rather's old network. Blue state.) where a practitioner of Kabbalah was, well, here's the dialogue, from the episode entitled "The church of Hell", describing said practitioner's attempt to create their own gateway to Hell in the house they were renting:
