"Let's hope the radical Islamists don't watch the Academy Awards that night and get even more motivated to kill us," said Cliff Kincaid of the conservative media watchdog group Accuracy in Media, commenting on the Oscar-nominated films Brokeback Mountain and Transamerica, in AIM's Media Matters Web column, Feb. 23.

I suppose he is right, in that if we become a backward, Stone Age nation that persecutes gay people the Islamist extremists will love us. If we take away a woman's right to drive and vote and make women wear bee keeper suits they will embrace us even more.

So, the answer to stopping terrorism is to become like the terrorists. You just have to love the "logic" of right wing nuts.

So, what I reed is that this guy is actually JUSTIFYING terrorism by saying that the reason behind it is not wrong foreing policy and racism-xenophobia, but actual "Gay fear"... I don't know but as a behavioral scientist I must say that for a "media watchdog" this guy is pretty misinformed and he is supporting terrorism. I wonder if he was also wiretaped.

Interesting how people are getting into movies now not just to tell a good story or even retell history (as in days of yore) but to "change the world".

How can we change their world?

What will it take for "Brokeback mountain" (which is aimed more at the straight, not gay, world) to be freely shown in places like Kabul, Ashgabat, Baku, Tripoli, Mosul, etc.?

Great works of art by Degas of ballet dancers isn't shown in those Muslim countries because the dancers have on short skirts.

Have you ever seen the swimming outfits for Muslim women?
Ludicrous and ridiculous.
Why bother to go to the beach or swim?
Even Kahlil Gibran has Mustafa talking about how the wind loves to dance in our hair and the warm sun teases our faces.

How sad that life's natural wonders and comforts cannot be fully enjoyed by Muslim women?

The real world and discovery, freedom and curiosity is hated by the Muslim world now, that's all.
Which explains why the fruits of human souls catching fire hasn't been borne out of that culture in many, many, many years.
