Wayne, in comparison to the other talking head you spoke with more authority and knowledge than the twirp! That contest you won hands down! You also looked very handsome and clean cut. Maybe that's what they object to so much - - - that gays are coming out of the stereotype and look better (and more masculine, I might add) than they? If I were batting for the other team, I would still pay more attention to you than the bed-headed red head.

He does give good face, and stance, but more important, I think he gives good word.

Wayne, you were terrific! You totally annihilated the cryptic homophobe who appeared towards the end of the interview. Especially in the year 2007, the homophobes are just so fantastically pathetic. If all they can do is present some study from Pat Robertson (the televangelist who said that God would send a meteor to hit Orlando because of its sins), I think we have every reason to feel optimistic.

I'm just glad you got to shoot down his "the latest scientific study says" B.S., and point out that it's a "joke". Perfect word choice.
I don't think you really answered the question though, after you accused McClurkin of being gay, the guy asked you where you get off deciding things about other people's identities.
I assumed you would bring up other examples, like the mainstream scientific and medical opinions (e.g. the APA), and outed frauds like John Paulk, to suggest there is no such thing as ex-gay. But you sort of dodged the question.
They keep invoking "scientific studies". I think every time that happens, there should always be two responses: call out their "research" as a politically and religiously motivated "joke" (which you did), but then always invoke mainstream science - point out that every reputable scientific and medical organization in this country disagrees with their "findings" and does not consider them objectively valid in any sense.
Also, to chime in on this very important question: "How can Barack Obama denounce ex-gays and still get the black vote, considering so many black people believe in it?"
Well I think that's the exact reason why he SHOULD denounce them. Homophobia has unfortunately worked its way deeply into black churches. Anyone who really cares about black communities would have the wisdom and courage to fight homophobia within them.
