As it turns out, homosexual Republicans are lining up behind John McCain. The problem is, they better make sure their pants are up if he lines up behind them, as he as screwed the GLBT community on nearly every vote. John McCain is no moderate - and his "Straight Talk Express" means you aren't allowed to talk about gay issues. (Okay, I made up the last part, but it sounded too good to pass up)
The gay GOPers can't back Huckabee, as he is a religious lunatic, and Romney is too untrustworthy. "Full-of-Mitt" is likely to come out in support of gay rights while campaigning in San Francisco; only to switch his position to the death penalty on state visits to Saudi Arabia, if he were elected. He just changes his position like the tides. Romney is one amoral, plastic, protean politician who needs to be retired. So, that leaves McCain, who once referred to Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell as "agents of intolerance." Until, of course, he needed them this time around. Then he began tolerating these agents, quite easily.
There is a solution for depressed Republicans: Become Democrats.
It's hard for me to undertsand why someone who is gay would be for a party who is noctorious for looking down on the GLBT community. Not only do republicans feel they have NO use for the GLBT community they kiss up to the religious right. I know things are shady and grey with the Democrats now on Gay issues but I would rather go with them then a party that I know does'nt like diversity.

I've said this many times and I will go on saying it. Why on earth would any sane Gay voter support a party that doesn't want us, ever? Do they really believe they can change the party from within? Its absurd! If they are the party of inclusion as they've always stated, then why aren't they discussing equality and other issues affecting Gay rights? Why did none of the contenders discuss that? How many more Larry Craig's will it take to get them to give up their unending support to a party that clearly doesn't want them?

GLBT Democrats are fatally naive. They condemn the Log Cabin Republicans but it’s the Democrats who have consistently thrown us under the bus. Democrats voted in favor of DADT and DOMA and Bill Clinton signed them and then ran campaign boasting about it. Democrats have controlled Congress for two years but refuse to repeal DADT and DOMA and went on to gut ENDA. They the Democrats and then dropped it and the Matthew Sheppard hate crimes bill so they wouldn’t be campaign issues. The Democrats nominate and supports gay bashers in the courts and for Attorney General. A word for those who want real, not cosmetic change: if you vote Democrat you’ll be voting to give us a Bush Lite presidency for the next four years. If you oppose gay bashers you’re in the wrong party. If you oppose the war in Iraq you’re in the wrong party. If you oppose union busting you’re in the wrong party. If you vote for the Democratic (sic) Party you’re wasting you vote on a party of bigots.
Um, and the republicans *arent* a party of bigots?!?! The republicans are a party of inclusion only in the sense that minorities and poor white people are 'included' so they can cook and clean for them, take care of their golf courses, nanny their children, groom their wives and horses and give the men secret blow jobs in bathroom stalls. The Dems may be far from perfect for the glbt community, but they're still light years better than the Grand Ol' Perverts party. Red V

@Bill in Perdue:
According to your logic, nobody should vote at all.
But since we're stuck with a two-party system for now, you've got to support one or the other for president.
So which is it? Vote for the Democrats who are fuzzy on some issues? Or vote for the Republicans who are clearly and blatantly pro-war, against unions, against religious liberty, and against minorities' equal rights?
