Concerned Women for America's policy director for cultural issues, Matt Barber, is leaving the organization to work for Liberty University School of Law and Liberty Counsel. Barber has embraced ex-gay organizations, such as Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays (PFOX). This is an organization that has used the courts to try to force schools to teach scientifically bankrupt ex-gay theories.
"We hope that Barber's move to Liberty Counsel does not signal an increase in frivolous lawsuits and wasting of taxpayer's money," said Wayne Besen, Executive Director of TruthWinsOut.org. "Barber's infatuation with ex-gay ministries combined with Liberty Counsel's use of legal intimidation is a toxic mix."
According to CWA founder and chairman Beverly LaHaye, "We wish him well as he goes to Liberty for this important next step in his career. We are pleased that he will continue to partner with us on the issues that are so important to him and to us."
Yet another troubled soul who doesn't have enough talent or ability to compete in the private sector, and instead incites bigotry in people in order to make a living. Pathetic. And why are so many of them so damn fat?

I know - first he was representing fat women who sits on their asses, scarfing down bon-bons and watching Desperate Housewives - now he's representing a dead whale.
Matt Barber is like a human version of AIDS, so I believe this is a good thing. "Bam Bam" has already infected CWFA with his homosex-obsessing, while ruining their credibility quite a bit. Now he's going to do the same to Falwell's own University.
That's right, anon - "GO GET EM!!!". He'll be the death of that group, too.
Perhaps "Bam Bam" will someday be as big as Falwell. And I'm not talking about reputation or influence, either.

You know, I feel bad about my "fat" comment. I have some fat friends, and I love them and they have experienced their own hurt over society's dismissal of them because of their size, which is, indeed, their business. I shouldn't have said it. When types like Matt Barber come forward, I become disgusted, but in the future I should just state the facts and not insults. I just don't understand how a person like Barber can use his precious time here on Earth to fight gays and lesbians. It's such a waste.

I think the majority of these right wing zealots have very unsatisfactory sex lives and very insecure, among other things. If they were that happy about theirs, they wouldn't feel threatened by let alone obsess so much about ours. They are either jealous or upset but severely damaged people at best. Homophobia is a form of neurosis, needs long-term therapy often permanently.

Matt certainly can't make it in the private sector. He used to work for Allstate Insurance in Northbrook, Illinois, near Chicago and was correctly and properly fired several years back.
He tried to claim it was because of his religious belief, but it wasn't.
After his termination the right-wing decided to use him as their poster boy for (alleged) anti-Christian attitudes in the workplace. Our own Porno Pete was all over it, trying to get the local media here to listen.
Luckily, they recognized a pair of crackpots when they saw them and avoided it.
The idiot posted right-wing crap on WorldNetDaily and similar internet sites and was so stupid he actually included his title at Allstate in his bio tagline/signature on his articles.
With his big mouth and outrageous opinions, he could never work in the private sector again.
