Well, thank God we can finally eat McNuggets in peace without the yahoos at the American Family Association annoying us at the next table. The AFA will announce a boycott today because they claim the company supports the so-called "gay agenda" and has taken sides in the "culture wars."
"It is about McDonald's, as a corporation, refusing to remain neutral in the culture wars," whined the oft-offended AFA. "McDonald's has chosen not to remain neutral but to give the full weight of their corporation to promoting the homosexual agenda, including homosexual marriage."
The AFA - the Tupelo, Mississippi-based group that once claimed Mighty Mouse snorted cocaine - has once again gone mad. What next, they will claim that Grimace is secretly gay because he is the same lavender shade as the Teletubby Tinky Winky?
McDonalds is not promoting a "gay agenda." They are simply supporting equality for all people in the workplace. This boycott will fail, just as AFA's Disney Boycott fell flat. The group is all hat and no cattle and has emerged as one of the most dishonest groups on the far right fringe. They even sell a video, "It's Not Gay" featuring failed ex-gay Michael Johnston - without a disclaimer telling AFA members that Johnston has participated in gay orgies, while claiming to have "changed." Now, how moral is that?
I'm going to do my part this morning. I will put my yogurt back in the refrigerator, march down to McDonald's, and buy a delicious Egg McMuffin. Yum!
Please call McDonald's today and thank them for being a fair-minded company and let them know you would rather eat without the angry, puritanical AFA crowd.

Couldn't help noticing that while the AFA claims McDonalds sent them a letter reaffirming their "commitment to homosexuality", the actual letter confirms McDonalds' commitment to "diversity" and says they respect all people regardless of race, religious belief, sexual orientation, etc.
LOL What the hell is a "commitment to homosexuality" and what would that look like? I'm sure Wayne's readers can come up with some funny examples.

It's amazing how often the AFA goes after companies, insisting they "remain neutral". Why doesn't the AFA lead the world and remain neutral on this issue? The AFA seems intent on eliminating any support for the GLBT community, so they can spew their hatred and intolerance unimpeded. Hats off to McDonalds. I'm having a Big Mac right now!

I think a 'commitment to homosexuality' is gay marriage.

As if this is a shocker.
Those "men" like Peter LaBarbera, Don Wildmon and Tony Perkins looks at the golden arches, and in their fucked-up heads, what they see is two men fucking.
It's OK though - let their hysterics continue to destroy what's left of "christianity". Let them continue to churn Atheists out from their churches, while they're hopping and screaming about everything that doesn't concern them.
Does anyone else find this self-destruction entertaining? LOL

I'm still wondering what kind of happy meal toys you would get if McDonald's really had a "commitment to homosexuality".

The only Christianity they're continuing to destroy is the fake right-wingnut variety. Have mercy, we taint all like that! That grumbling sound that the Hamburgler made is because the AFA wont accept his "lifestyle choice".

What a joke! Like the lard-ass rednecks who go to those 'churches' would ever give up McDonalds are any other fast-food trough.

Hi Anon,
What I meant by "christianity" is certainly not REAL Christianity (although they make real Christians look bad in the process). This is why I use quotations - there's a big difference between Christians, and "christians".
Same reason why I put quotations around "men" when I mentioned LaBarbera and his ilk. They aren't really men - they're just paranoid women, trapped inside of a man's body.

The AFA were behind the furor over the Heinz Deli-Mayo commercial which aired in the UK. After 200 or so complaints, Heinz caved. The commercial was gay positive, showing us as a family. What got their panties in a bunch, was the sight of two men exchange a quick peck on the lips.
They ended a seven year boycott of Disney after they failed to get them to comply with their homophobic agenda.
I agree with Wayne, we must not let the powers that be at McDonalds to only hear the voices of the AFA. I've already contacted McDonalds to thank them for their continued support and sent a take action alert to our members to do the same. McDonalds is standing strong, however, we have seem many other companies cave to the pressure from the AFA. We can ill afford to allow the AFA to continue bullying gay-friendly companies without putting up a fight and having our voices heard as well.
Zeke, re the Heinz UK commercial. 8 members of parliament signed a petition to demand that Heinz reinstate the commercial, along with 13,000 plus signatures from the British public. Compared to the AFA measly 200 at the instigation of James Dobson, it proves that Heinz supports the right wingers. I no longer buy Heinz products either. We should all join the boycott.
