No one with an ounce of intelligence listens to Fixed News anyway. And I could never understand why people like Michelle Malkin would side with the white fatcat power establishment. Besides being a woman, she's a dark complected Asian. The only thing the bushies would let her do (if she werent their shill) is be their cook or housekeeper. Like that jerkoff bush said to the president of the Philippines, 'i'm reminded of the contributions of our Philippine Americans everytime I eat dinner at the White House.'

It's just amazing how this once great country (which has often been "mean" to people who are the "other") treats blacks like second class citizens, marginalizes and stigmatizes them, and THEN, when our black friends turn bitter (an appropriate and universal human reaction to such treatment) get criticized for the emotion: "Oh look, she's so bitter!"
I wish these Republicans could live through an existence of being thought of as "less than." I'm sure they'd react with pleasantry and an abundance of thanks. As for Michelle Obama not being patriotic enough, our founders were a warning against "compulsory patriotism." Remember the remarks of Samuel Johnson: "Patriotism is the last refuge of scoundrels." It is good to love one's country and to have pride in it, but the way the Republicans make it a fascist-like obligation is very sickening and UNAMERICAN itself.
My only fear is that this tactic may prove successful amongst the rubes in our midst who call themselves good citizens merely because they boisterously claim to love their country. The people on this very blog are good citizens because they are seeking to save it. And thank goodness for people like Wayne who are not afraid to sound the alarm instead of weakly and lazily standing buy singing the country's praises when, in fact, we need a clarion call!

Chris, "compulsory patriotism" is another term for fascism. A lot of it can be found in the conservative ideology. Let them walk in our shoes for the rest of their lives, they'd be singing a different tune. They're untouched by discrimination, prejudice, bigotry....as long as they have their tax cuts and not paying their fair share at the expense of the rest of us, they don't give a damn, hardly what you could call patriotic. Wearing a flag pin or waiving the flag at every provocation even if we're wrong doesn't cut it any more. This dumb electorate better wake up out of its deep slumber. With the Dems now caving in to wiretapping....don't expect much change after November. At least Clinton had the decency to vote against it. THAT is patriotic!
