Falwell Pissed Away Fundy Fortune On Christian Utopia

Despite raising an estimated hundreds of millions of dollars for the Christian right, televangelist Jerry Falwell died poor, a new book claims. That's right, he bashed fags and died in rags. Serves him right.

The pugnacious preacher apparently lost most of his fortune to a doomed investment, a $20 million "Christian community," according to investigative author Dirk Smillie in his new book "Falwell, Inc." I'm sure Falwell accepted God's will with grace and good spirits.

Yes, I am glad he no longer walks the earth. I will never forget him talking about how gays and women's liberation caused the attacks on the Twin Towers. Outrageous and perverted thinking. I don't care if he publicly apologized to gays or ex gays or whomever - the fact is - he never re-canted his belief on the matter and took that to his grave.

And I seriously doubt he left his family without more than enough to live comfortably - next to the poor and the needy in this country - see sins of sodom.

We need someone like Falwell to expose the lastest public perversity in San Francisco, where nude men engaged in multiple instances of public sex on a municipal street while police officers nearby made no attempt to enforce public indecency regulations. The officers were probably afraid of being raped!

This behavior was documented in photographs of an event called "Up Your Alley," which is sponsored by the same group that organizes the city's fall "gay"-fest, the Folsom Street Fair. Their sexual deviancy is unlawful on the physical level, and it's unlawful on the metaphysical level.

The photos do not fit in with the slick, national "gay" marketing plan. But the pathetic and debased spectacle is as much an offspring of the "GLBT" movement as the current quest for homosexual "marriage." Homosexual activists radically redefine and corrupt an ancient institution created by God to order relations between man and woman as the basis for family life. Perverse events like "Up Your Alley" mock any notion of right and wrong – as the reckless pursuit of anything-goes "tolerance" leads governmental authorities like Gavin Newsome to enable and promote evil, turning freedom into sexual anarchy while causing a breakdown in law and order.

As many bloggers have already noted, this 'Up Your Alley' event was not an official GLBT event - it was a FETISH event. And if I recall reading it, the event was open to all adults, gay and straight.

You sound like Peter LaBarbera to me, if not one of his followers. And no, Peter doesn't need to replace Falwell. At least Falwell wasn't running around with a camera, chasing after nude men.

What I find hilarious is Wayne and other Democratic Party hacks almost complete ignoring of the John Edwards fiasco. His reaction to the reports on Edwards' "love child" scandal is reminiscent of the Soviet press. Edwards' name has simply been completely whitewashed since an initial report.

I bet that if we tried to look up coverage of the Democratic primaries in Nexis news archives, Edwards' name will have disappeared from the debates. By next week, Edwards won't have been John Kerry's running mate in 2004.

Wayne and his cohorts defend the total blackout on the Edwards' love child story by making claims that don't survive the laugh test. For example, he and others claim that since Edwards is no longer an elected official and he is not running for office, coverage shouldn't be expected.

HMM...what sort of "elected official" was Ted Haggard again? He was the Christian minister relatively few outside of his own parish had ever heard of until he was caught in a gay sex scandal last year. Then he suddenly became the pope of the Protestants. And yet, despite the fact that Haggard was not an "elected official," Wayne and others gave that story a lot of coverage.

And by the way, what sort of "elected officials" were Mel Gibson, Rush Limbaugh and Bill Bennett? Such hypocrisy - on BOTH sides!!! (I know some will try and paint me as a "right-winger," which I'm NOT!).

It's probably too obvious to point out that Wayne would be taking a wall-to-wall coverage approach to the love child story if it were a story about Mitt Romney's love child or Larry Craig's love child. But with a Democrat sex scandal, Wayne is in a nail-biting competition with his fellow Democratic hacks for the award for "Best Suppressed Story." It's been reported that Edwards' mistress is receiving $15,000 a month in hush money. No word on how much the Wayne is getting for not talking about it.

Anon, Edwards is not an enemy of the GLBT community, so why would we go after him? We're not denying that it happened, it's just a non-issue for us. The point about exposing the sex scandals of the "christian" right, family values crowd is their *hypocrisy*!
When they condemn us and try to legislate against us, and then go out and cheat on their wives with men OR women, they deserve to be exposed and severly criticized.

Wayne and Gary and Robert and others are justifying the wall-to-wall coverage of the smallest malfeasance by any Christian or "Christian" or conservative or "conservative," with or without independent verification, with the lame excuse of "hypocrisy."

Well hey, why didn't you say so! If all it takes to get the Edwards story Wayne's redar is a little hypocrisy, have I got a story for you!!

Here's the story:

1) The entire schmaltzy Edwards campaign consisted of this self-professed moralist telling us how much he loved the poor and loved his cancer-stricken wife.

2) The following was Edwards' response to CBS News anchor Katie Couric's question about whether voters should care if a presidential candidate is faithful to his spouse:

"Of course. I mean, for a lot of Americans - including the family that I grew up with, I mean, it's fundamental to how you judge people and human character - whether you keep your word, whether you keep what is your ultimate word, which is that you love your spouse, and you'll stay with them. ... I think the most important qualities in a president in today's world are trustworthiness - sincerity, honesty, strength of leadership. And - and certainly that goes to a part of that."

There you have it Gary and Robert! Go to town, Wayne!!

We also need more people like Falwell to expose Americans to the nonsense and depravity coming out of California. Only a year after banning all negative messages about homosexuality in public schools throughout the state, the California Legislature now is ordering school children to celebrate "gay" lifestyle choices.

If signed into law, the bill would mean an official day commemorating homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality in California government schools. It will positively portray to children homosexual experimentation, homosexual "marriages," sex-change operations, and anything else that's "in the closey" (exactly where it should be).

Hopefully moves such as these in California will spur parents into action. Hopefully it will further motivate California parents to remove their children from the immoral government school system.

Why does that one comment concerning the Edwards affair keep moving and appearing/disappearing? It actually makes a great point.

The scandal over former-Senator John Edwards' fathering of a love child is rapidly being surpassed by a greater travesty - not one single major media organization in the U.S is covering the story.

Edwards, who's sought the presidency twice, actually was nominated for vice president once, and made millions as a trial lawyer by holding health maintenance organizations accountable for their transgressions, is manifestly newsworthy and clearly a public figure. Hell, Edwards is a Democratic celebrity.

Yet no major network or national daily paper is doing anything with the story. Wayne, who's normally all over these type of scandals, only had one post dealing with initial reports.

Sure, it's distasteful. That's one of the reasons it's news.

I wonder why Wayne and others don't want to touch this sordid tale about a politician's love life? Former Rep. Gary Condit should have been so lucky. Larry Craig and Ted Hagard can only gaze in wonder at the dearth of coverage.

San Francisco is regulary rated as one of the top tourist destinations in the world. It has some of the most covited real estate in America. In comparison you could but the entire christianist state of Alabama for what a two bedroom condo in S.F. would fetch. Not to mention the real estate and economy in the liberal city of L.A. Whatever California is doing or teaching in their schools, they are doing it right.

If a christian does not want their children learning about sexuality in public schools, then said christian ought to not take tax discounts from the government - since it goes against what others believe.

Really, as a conservative christian, it is not realistic to expect others to pay for my life and beliefs. Nor should I pay for theirs.

So here's the solution. Take your kids out of public school and put them in private schools. Ask that your church be supported by it's parishoners instead of the gorvernment. Then you will have a legal argument to stand on. Until such time, practice your own faith and don't ask others to do the same because it saves you a buck.

Conservative christians have not acted as christians to those who are "unlike" them. This stranger at the gate is now yelling. Could it have been said any more clearly?

And thankfully an appeals court in California has ruled that state law does permit homeschooling "as a species of private school education." The long-awaited case resolves many of the questions that had developed in homeschooling circles across the nation when the same court earlier found that parents had no such rights - statutorily or constitutionally - in the People's Republic of California. This recent decision, while not perfect, is a great victory for home-school freedom.

And I have to say, even though I would teach my children in private school (they would recieve education at home) since I lack faith that anyone could provide my child with the critical skills needed to make it through.
