Hillary Clinton gave an incredible speech this evening that unified the Democratic party. Her legendary performance will help Barack Obama - but also it will help propel her towards the White House in a future race. Losing the primary was only a temporary setback. Based on her speech this evening - I expect to see - and support - Hillary in the years to come.
Thank you Hillary for doing what was best for the party and the nation. I know it must have been incredibly difficult after two years of campaigning - but you came through and earned a tremendous amount of respect and good will.
I also thank you for mentioning the gay community in your speech! It was great to hear and drove home how important it is to vote for Democrats in the upcoming election.

All true, and now I'm looking forward to hearing Biden tonight and Obama in the stadium tomorrow. I really hope Biden is in his, tell it like it is, attack dog mode tonight.

What? In Hillary's speech there was no clear, flat assertion that Obama is qualified and prepared to be commander-in-chief, which of course was always HER CENTRAL CRITIQUE of him. That was something I had expected to see, and quite clearly did not. Hillary did little to sell Obama's personal characteristics, his qualities or ability as commander in chief. She mentioned Obama 12 times, McCain 12 times.
But here's the upside to her failure to declare Obama "ready on day one." It sets up Bill for a chance to do it today. We'll see...

Well, Hillary's speech certainly didn't erase my frustrations with the way the mainstream media and the Obama campaign has and is treating Hillary Clinton and the many weaknesses of Obama. I can't believe this myself, but I'm actually considering staying home or - YIKES - voting for McCain.

I don't care if the Dems have to say that gays are the devil to get elected, I don't want another republican in the white house. I want them to say what they need to say to get elected. This usually has little to do with how they govern. Just spoon the pablum to the public.

I thought her speech was awesome. I was cheering from my computer. The comment about Mccain and Bush being in the Twin Cities making sense b/c they're increasingly harder to tell apart was amazing. She explained why she is a positive element in government and then declared that her reasons for being a positive element are the same as those that make Obama "her candidate." She gave a great speech. And she mentioned gay rights in the same breath as civil rights. i was happy to hear acknowledgment of that. Baby steps, people.
