If you do one thing today - watch this clip from the Daily Show With Jon Stewart. It shows exactly how the Republicans lie. Don't take my word for it - watch the following clip and judge for yourself why the Republicans simply can't be trusted and see how the are empty suits who offer nothing but cynical spin.

Ohh, anonymous, you are a deluded dreamer. The reality is exactly the opposite of your wishful thinking. The latest gallup poll shows Mccain's selection of Palin has backfired on him. Obama leads Mccain by 49-43.

http://www.gallup.com/poll/110032/Gallup-Daily-Dent-Obama-Lead-Far.aspx
From Gallup:
The results are based on interviewing conducted Sept. 1-3. The vast majority of interviews on Wednesday evening were conducted before Sarah Palin gave her much-anticipated convention speech. However, the data do indicate that the initial first two nights of the convention -- the slimmed down Monday program in deference to Hurricane Gustav and Tuesday's speeches headlined by former senator Fred Thompson -- have, so far, done little to change voter preferences.
Thursday's interviewing will be the first to reflect the immediate impact of Palin's speech, and the coming days will give a truer measure of the effect the GOP convention -- including McCain's acceptance speech tonight -- is having on voters. Obama got a four percentage point increase in his share of the vote in Gallup Poll Daily tracking coming out of the Democratic convention last week, establishing a lead over McCain after the two had been exactly tied immediately prior to last week's convention.

I do think the Dems are nervous about Palin. She was an enormously wise choice for McCain. But there's nothing wrong with Dems being nervous (or even scared). You want your side to win. Just like the Repubs were nervous when Obama's speech at the DNC went so well. //////Anyway, I still say these dopey conventions don't mean much. It's the debates that will make people decide who to vote for. And it looks like it can go either way.

Anonymous, the only effect from Palin's speech is going to be negative. She appeals to radical religionists like you but she's exactly what turns off the independent voters Mccain needs to win. Obama stepped above the fray to talk about positive change while Mccain and Palin resorted to frothing at the mouth attacks - a clear sign they know the odds are against them and they will likely lose.

Anonymous said "the two had been exactly tied immediately prior to last week's convention.".
Not true:
http://themoderatevoice.com/politics/republican-party/22298/palin-factor-in-new-gallup-poll-with-obama-6-point-lead/
The last Gallup update conducted entirely before Obama’s convention and vice presidential announcement was based on interviews conducted Aug. 20-22, and showed Obama up by two points, 46% to 44%.
Mccain thought he'd capture female voters by picking Palin but that's backfired on him as well:
http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5hp7GUc9zHATnBsvfct5Uuh7t8D-A
52% of women surveyed said they'd vote Democrat versus 41% who said they'd vote Republican.

Wayne, way to go, about time. Make no mistake, Anonymous will come back in here under another disguise.
As for McCain last night, just exactly how is he going to achieve what he said he will do? He didn't go into any details unlike Obama. Palin mocks community organizers. Well, she's also mocking faith based community organizations too instituted by George Bush and supported by McCain. What a hypocrite she is!
I can't wait for Joe Biden to debate her. If she wants to run with the big boys, then she's going to have to deal with them on their terms...no tears Sarah! Lets see what you're made of when you stand opposite Biden.
I get the impression that her speech was very Rovian, don't you? Sounds like he had a hand in it.

Wayne, what happened. You've allowed the closet case back in? Since you have his email address, its not that difficult to find out who he is via his ISP with the help of an adept computer geek. Its doable.
Once done, you can also spread the word that he's been regularly frequenting gay blogsites calling his sexual orientation into question. He sounds like another porno Pete type to me.

Because Anonymous has responded to his suspension with a tantrum, the penalty no longer is one month. It has now been upgraded to a one year.
Any further reaction on this site will result in a lifetime suspension.
Any poster that even sounds remotely like this creep (who likely works for Focus on the Family) will be deleted at the first opportunity.
Anonymous, we will see you back in 2009 - which gives you plenty of time for charm school.
Thanks

Wayne, I have to disagree. missy anonymous should be heard or read here, bot banned. not that i think she makes the slightest bit of sense, but because cutting off debate is never good.
What would be a better choice is just to ignore her. Like so many people who thinks like she does, she thrives on the attention. Ignore her and she iwll just go away.
dont' feed the trolls.

Are you all talking about Theo by any chance? Or as I've called her/him in the past, Theocrazy. As for Jon Stewart, he rocks and he's a Jersey boy who went to Lawrenceville High, which is just a few miles from where I live. His mom is a teacher and a friend of mine who is also a teacher, knows her. In his younger days, Jon was a bartender at a Mexican restaurant (which is now defunct) called Casa Lupita. We, of course, called it Casa Lupenis. >;-)

Ben:
I am not cutting off competing views. But this Anonymous has abused his privileges. He has posted too much. And, has done so in an insulting and unbecoming manner.
It is bad manners to post 100 times on someone else's site.
I am also fairly convinced that this person is an employee of a right wing group. So, this is not a person's genuine opinion, but organizational propaganda - which is forbidden from this site.
Only real people can post here - not paid mouthpieces and shills for Focus on the Family.

OK. I understand. On the other hand, all of that posting here means no doing real damage somewhere else.
But you are the boss, and i respect your opinion and commitment, unlike the shill.

Wayne, thanks for letting us know. As I've said before, he pr she will be back under a different guise using a different ISP perhaps and email address. Whoever it is, doesn't have the guts to use a real name. I bet you anything its a closet case, maybe a Log Cabiner even or perhaps a wannabe ex-gay!
To digress....all this nonsense about McCain being a maverick? For a neocon who's voted 90% of the time with Bush, how on earth can he be described as a maverick when he has conformed to virtually everthing Bush has done? The only truth he's ever told was while he was subjected to torture as a P.O.W. and how much longer can the grand old party of hate play that card? Its wearing thin.

As far as family values go....some of you may not know that McCain was engaged to Cindy McCain while he was still married to his first wife whom he cheated on several times. He needs to be reminded of that every time he nixes marriage equality for LGBT people and plays the family values card, among other things. Is Patrick Sammon paying attention?

Well, anonymous, maybe if you would post a screen name or something even slightly identifiable you wouldn't get banished. I have been watching this blog long enough to see that Wayne has been more than fair and tolerant. Perhaps posting in a civilized and polite manner might save you from further excommunication. I mean, it couldn't hurt!

Please, anon. The enemy of your enemy is NOT your friend. And i'm not wayne's enemy. His website, his rules.
And I'm not your friend. I just put a premium on ethical behavior, and free speech is one of my ethics. Plus, i agree with him. Like so many fundamentalists, whether from the right or the left, you already 'know' all the truth you require. Your arguments have been torn to shreds any number of times, but you just keep insisting that you're right. I almost did a posting to you on the subject when you had claimed victory, when the real word was pointless, or stupid, or fatigued-- take your pick. I was going to suggest that you read Ozymandias, but I suspect you are cultured enough to know it, if stupid enough not to see the point.
And besides, you have already demonstrated that there is no point in speaking to you.b Hence, my suggestion to wayne. Ignore the troll.
but as I said, his website, his rules.

Rick Shenkman of the Washington Post takes on some myths.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/05/AR2008090502666.html
Here's one of them: "Bill O'Reilly's viewers are dumber than Jon Stewart's."
Liberals wish. Democrats like to think that voters who sympathize with their views are smarter than those who vote Republican. But a 2007 Pew survey found that the knowledge level of viewers of the right-wing, blustery "The O'Reilly Factor" and the left-wing, snarky "The Daily Show" is comparable, with about 54 percent of the shows' politicized viewers scoring in the "high knowledge" category.
So what about conservative talk-radio titan Rush Limbaugh's audience? Surely the ditto-heads are dumb, right? Actually, according to a survey by the Annenberg Public Policy Center, Rush's listeners are better educated and "more knowledgeable about politics and social issues" than the average voter.
