Palin Should Drop Out For The Good Of America

Tonight Sarah Palin jumps on the big stage in a week that she revealed that she does not read newspapers. Indeed, she could not even tell Katie Couric a single news source she read on a daily basis. And she wants to one day be president?

This incurious woman will take her intellectual vacuousness on a stage with Joe Biden this evening. Her only hope is that expectations are so low - as they were for Bush in 2000 - that by simply not falling off the stage she can declare victory. (Don't put it past the American people to get duped. Remember, we vote for people we want to BBQ with and then wonder why we get smoked.)

For weeks, Palin has been sequestered while she crammed for her exams. The few times the McCain campaign took off her training wheels for interviews, she performed dismally and provided fodder for the late night television jesters. She has made Dan Quayle look like Aristotle.

A new Washington Post poll reveals that Palin is a drag on the ticket. Six in 10 voters see her as lacking the experience to be an effective president, and a third are now less likely to vote for McCain because of her.

The day after her convention speech - when everyone lauded her - I said on this page that Palin would crash and burn. My prediction is looking rather prescient. One simply can't go from slaying a moose to running the country in a merely five weeks. Unlike Bush, Palin is not dumb. She is just inexperienced and does not read enough to fill in the gaps. She is out of her league and she ought to do what is right for America by dropping out of this campaign.

Theo, AJ, Ethan.....and what if she doesn't come out swinging as you claim? What then? If someone asked me what kind of magazines I read, I'd be able to provide a fast answer. Palin is such an airhead, she couldn't even make something up by saying that she reads The Economist for example. Why should she need prepping for any debate if she is so qualified for the job of VP? She should know this stuff off the top of her head including foreign policy. While Governor, she has not even issued one executive order in her 19 month tenure and in fact has only been in active session no more than 120 days. You call that experience? A real debate would allow the candidates to ask one another questions. This is just a question and answer time, nothing more. I for one am expecting NO surprises from Palin after hearing the Gibson and Couric interviews and her subsequent responses. There's only a certain amount of script she will be able to remember and if she stumbles, shell do what she always does, quote her lines over and over to avoid embarassment and ineptitude.

This is the same core 23 to 25% of koolaid drinkers who still give bush a favorable approval rating. And even if she does abysmally, she'll still win over many of the american electorate who are dumb enough to fall for all that folksy Hahahahkey Mahahaham bullshit.

She will make a couple dumb jokes about "moose stew", and the commentators will fawn over her and say that she "...won the debate on personality" despite the fact that she has the intellect of a second grader.

I would not be one to label her as having "no intellect", as I have not met her personally, have had no interaction with her, and as such cannot make any judgment based on that criteria. That being said, I DO find her intellectually incurious,

That being said, I DO find her intellectually incurious, and unable to question her own beliefs or that of those around her. That sort of rigidity can only bring disaster, because you won’t change course even though the iceberg is dead ahead. (Insert your own Titanic metaphor here)

Do you honestly think Barack has any experience or credibility? What has he done in the senate or in this country? he is wasted space like the rest of his suppporters. If you are lazy, and want a free ride and a hand out then that is a obama supporter.

What does anyone think of her responce to gay issues? Biden said outright that he felt that Gays should get full bennifits,Palin kinda danced around it without giving a straight answer,she said she supported civil rights but made it crystal clear that she opposes gay marriage, sure Biden did'nt supprt full marraige but came across as more supporting gay rights.

It would be suicide for a candidate to say they support gay marriage at this time. It is enough to say they oppose a constitutional amendment. You gotta play the game because it is a game with high stakes. I don't want the dem candidate to say anything that would hurt his chances.
